Dedicated Hosting

The pros and cons of having your own dedicated server management and the pros and cons of obtaining a dedicated hosting service? What type of website would benefit from any of them. Basically … I agree with David except omitted one thing, which is the speed. If your server is in your building, you will be able to access it at the speed of the local network, typically of 100 Mb or 1 Gb / s. If the server is hosted remotely, you can access files over the Internet. Connection broadband Internet is perhaps typical 1-5Mb / s. So, for better access to the host server scenario will be 1/20th as fast as access to the local server. If only store and retrieve files very small and you have to do it from many remote locations, hosted is a good choice. If you are working on everything from one place and use the server more than a little, a local server is your best bet. Hope this helps, and please consult for more information on local file servers.
